Roman mythology accepted a woman as the goddess of justice and called her Eustathia. Eustathia is usually depicted holding a sword and scales and with her eyes closed. The statue of the Lady of Justice that adorns the palaces of justice around the world is a combination of Roman and Greek goddesses, Fortuna with blindfold, Toche from Greek mythology and Nemesis with a sword.
