The SZD-22 Mucha Standard was a Polish development to produce a competitive glider for the 1958 World Gliding Championships. It was successful and more than 250 were ultimately built. It was a direct development from the earlier SZD-12 Mucha 100 from 1953. This glider had air brakes, a single main gear and skids on the tail. These aircraft were exported to Great Britain, Argentina, Austria, Denmark, France and other countries.
