  1. The Overall Concept This asset is a classic tower mill, an advanced type of windmill famous in the Netherlands. Unlike the smaller post mill, this is a permanent industrial building used for grinding massive amounts of flour.

  2. Tapered Brick Tower The main body of the mill is built from red bricks. It starts wide at the bottom and gets narrower at the top, a shape designed to make the structure incredibly strong and stable against high winds.

  3. Wooden Stage (Gallery) Halfway up the tower, there is a wooden walkway or stage that wraps around the building. Supported by angled beams and lined with a rope railing, this platform allows the miller to reach the sails to adjust them.

  4. Thatched Cap The roof, or cap, is covered in thick yellow thatch (straw). This cap is designed to rotate independently of the brick tower, allowing the sails to face the wind from any direction without moving the whole building.
