1/1800th scale Alaska Class Large Cruiser model. Certain elements not to scale.

Although they were officially classed as Large Curisers, the Alaska class is generally considered to be Battlecruisers. These cruisers were about as long as some of the largest battleships. Six were planned, but only two were built. Since they were commissioned so late in the war, 1944, they did not see much service. They were decommissioned in 1947.

This model is designed and tested at 1/1800th scale, but up-scaling and down-scaling are possible. Since the model is optimized for 1/1800th scale, it is not ideal to print larger versions due to a lack of detail. The gun barrels and mast have been enlarged.
