09/23/2021 I made some changes to the body. It was dificult to print due the excess of support. Now it has been divided in 4 different shapes to avoid the interior support. Because of this, I had to block the unnecesary support (I'm adding a new GCODE file of just the body). I'm adding a new RAR file with the new files with the word ADJUST in them. The items changed are: Body, dashboard, steering wheel, front suspension and as a bonus, I made the seats in two parts to be able to print them in two colors. Please note that there are some small changes in the assy procedure.

This is the modified VW Thing (safari) model with modifications to the body, wheels, seats, etc.

This model was created in Sketchup and converted to different formats. The 3d formats are intended to edit the model if you want to change something. All STL files are in one RAR file. I managed to separate all pieces each in one STL file so you can print them separately.Files are named as the part name, and if needed several parts are named with Xnn where nn is the number of parts needed or MIRROR if you need two mirrored pieces. The model is intended to be printed at 1/24 scale (4.17% of its original size). Te model and all files are 1/1 scale. You'll find parts that are designed to assamble the model with glue, and other to assamble without it.

The model was not designed to work as a toy.

Tolerances were calculated to 0.1 mm at 1:24 scale for fitting pieces and 0.2 mm for moving pieces

The front steering will need a 2mm wire (I used a wire hang to cutt the portion needed) I'm adding in a separate file the steering rod, just in case you don't have the wire.

I used The Ultimaker Cura software to preview the model printing sets:

Scale: 4.17% (1:24)

Printer: Creality Ender 3 Pro Profile: super quality Infill density: 10% Layer high: 0.12 mm Build plate adhesion: skirt.

Some details I found when I buildt the model:

Almost all pieces fitted well. There is some trimming needed in the small fitting bulges.I advice to print the smaller pieces separately, and better if you do so with all pieces (a lot of work and time, but better results).I sugest that you use glue to mount all pieces (exept the wheels)You'll have fun building it!
