WWI US Model Bolo Knife 1917. The knives were issued in large quantities to American soldiers that were part of the American Expeditionary Forces that served in Europe during World War I. During World War I, the Bolo knife became villainous to any German solider going up against U.S. troops wielding these blades. The design of the knife consisted of wooden handles. Two rivets were used to secure the handles in place. The blade is large and heavy with a wide hand guard at the base of the blade.
