Allosaurus was a large theropod dinosaur that lived during the Late Jurassic period, approximately 155 to 145 million years ago. Known for its role as one of the dominant predators of its time, Allosaurus was a formidable hunter, measuring up to 12 meters (39 feet) in length and weighing around 2.5 metric tons.
