The Budd Metroliner is America's first attempt at creating a high speed train of up to at least 200 kmh (125 mph). The trains started running under the Pennsylvania Railroad before its merger with the New York Central to form Penn Central. After Penn Central's dissolution, the trains were transferred to Conrail and eventually Amtrak. The trains were proven to be not very reliable, having frequent electrical issues. Today, these high-speed EMUs have been converted to cab cars running primarily along the Keystone and Hartford lines. The Metroliner was succeeded spiritually by the Acela Express.
This is a model of a rebuilt Budd Metroliner with the roof hump added in Amtrak's Phase II paint scheme. A basic first-class interior is modeled. This model was made for GeoFS's Extra Vehicles Addon, and shows the respective GeoFS controls.
