Ancient Earthquake Jar with Frogs Copper is a three-dimensional model of Ancient Chinese seismograph that is a traditional Chinese device designed to detect and record seismic activity, known for its intricate and historical design.
The ancient Chinese seismograph was a large bronze jar invented by Zhang Heng. Around the vessel were dragon heads each holding a ball, with frogs below to catch them. When an earthquake happened, a ball would drop, pointing to the direction of the shock. It is considered one of the earliest earthquake detectors in history.
