This is a 3d model of a early B-17G-35-BO with olive drab/neutral gray paint scheme and steeplechase tail gun position.Historically, this aircraft was delivered to the Army Air Force in early '44. She was assigned to the 483rd bomb group/815 BS 15th airforce based in Italy.The 483rd BG was activated in the United States on 20 September 1943, the 483rd moved to Italy in March and April 1944. The combat operations of the Fifteenth Air Force began in April 1944 and they missions against enemy controlled targets in Austria, Czechoslovakia, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Poland, Southern France and Yugoslavia. The 483rd also supported ground forces during the invasion of Southern France in August 1944 and the Allied offensive in Northern Italy in April 1945.Miss Treated was shot down and crashed landed in late '44 where most of the crew survived.Model comes with landing gear extended and retracted.
