SOM-CLASS (TANGO-CLASS)
The Som (NATO reporting name Tango) is a class of Soviet Navy diesel-electric submarines that were built to replace the Foxtrot-class submarines assigned to the Black Sea and Northern Fleets.
B-515 is a Tango-class submarine remained in active service of Soviet and then Russian Navy until 2001. It was used for hunting, espionage, and patrol purposes.
It is currently docked in Hamburg and is open to the public as a museum exhibit. After being decommissioned in 2001, submarine was bought for one million euros and brought to Hamburg.
