Bubo is a polygon model based on the mechanical owl depicted in the original 1981 Clash of the Titans, produced by film legend, Ray Harryhaussen. While many of the physical details are true the original design, aspects of the wings and talons were redesigned to enhance the mechanical illusion and to optimize polygonal density. Also, instead of etched sheets of metal for the wing, stylized metallic feathers were created. Bubo is UV'd and was textured using procedural shaders and textures. Bubo is built to be smoothed for high resolution renders and to be rigged for animation. This model was developed in 2011. The rigged version may be made available, if interest is shown.
