F-14 Tomcat 3D Model – PBR Ready

Update Notice (May 1, 2026): This model has been completely updated and optimized. It now includes PBR (Physically Based Rendering) textures and a dedicated setup for V-Ray.

Description
Complete 3D model of the Grumman F-14 Tomcat, the iconic supersonic, twin-engine, two-seat, variable-sweep wing aircraft that served as the United States Navy's primary maritime air superiority fighter and fleet defense interceptor.

The model presents the fuselage, moving components, and structural panels as they appear in the actual aircraft. It includes the cockpit area and the landing gear bays.

Key Features
Updated PBR Textures: Textures mapped and optimized for V-Ray rendering engines, ensuring realistic surface details and materials.

Fully Rigged & Animated: All moving parts are rigged (variable-sweep wings, landing gear, afterburners, canopy, and control surfaces).

Organized Topology: Built with quad-based geometry, organized cleanly in layers, and ready for subdivision modifiers.

Real-World Scale: Modeled to exact real-world dimensions and proportions.

Technical Specifications
Subject: Grumman F-14 Tomcat Supersonic Fighter

Native Format: 3ds Max

Renderer: V-Ray

Plugins: No 3rd-party plugins required (standard V-Ray materials)

Topology: Clean quad-based geometry, subdividable

Textures: High-Resolution PBR Textures (2048x2048 and 4096x4096)

--Geometry--

Native format: 3ds max 2016.
No 3rd party plugin needed.
The main objects of the model are smootheable and easily editable. (turbosmooth, hypernurbs ) .

In maya the subdivision it is to be applied.
This model is organized cleanly on layers and consists primarily of quads.

--Rendering--

Render is done with integrated 3ds max Vray.

I also included a non-illuminated 3ds Max version with standard materials (if you do not use Vray).

Lighting is included only in the 3ds Max Vray version and materials may appear different in other program formats.

--Textures--

The textures are hand made with dirt and detail. The textures of the fuselage are applied with UV Unwrap. Some objects are not unwrapped (bolts, hollow tubes, etc...).

Textures range is: High-Resolution PBR Textures (2048x2048 and 4096x4096)
