Mando and the Child head back to their ship and blast off in search of baby Yoda’s people. Mando had given Cara Dune his Mandalorian necklace when he tried to send them on with him, and he discovers that the child is wearing it, sucking on the little Beskar steel piece the way baby’s do. It’s the symbol of the Mythosaur’s skull, the giant creatures the Mandalorians once rode upon.

You are a Mandalorian! Your ancestors rode the great Mythosaur.―Kuiil scolds the MandalorianMythosaurs were a type of creature that were allegedly tamed and ridden by ancient Mandalorians. In around 9 ABY, the Ugnaught Kuiil was training the Mandalorian bounty hunter Din Djarin to ride blurrgs on the planet Arvala-7 and scolded him when he tried to give up, reminding him of the fact that his ancestors rode mythosaurs and that blurrgs were easier to ride. Its skull was one of the traditional symbols of Mandalorian iconography, and some Mandalorian armor bore the distinctive symbol. A mythosaur skull hung from one of the walls in Dok-Ondar's Den of Antiquities in Black Spire Outpost, Batuu.
