3D model of the fully dynamic rigged Christmas lights with 2K PBR textures.
The model is created in Cinema 4D and optimized for Octane renderer with native Octane materials. The rig works only in Cinema 4D.
3D Rig Features
- You can assign Chrismas lights to any spline in your scene.
- Enable/disable the plug at the end of the cord.
- Control the number of lights (up 200 light bulbs).
- Adjust banking (overall lights rotation)
- Twist lights (big twist angles create an illusion of random lights positioning)
- Turn the light on and off.
The rig doesn not include a possiblity to change lights colors or tur on/off specific colors selectively. All things like these should be animated manually.
Topology
Model is created with high attention to detail. The mesh consists of quads with just a couple of triangles. Clean edge flow. The model parts are made as separate objects, logically nested and named.
Textures
One set of PBR textures at 2048 × 2048 (JPG): colour, reflection, glossiness, normal. One 2048 × 1024 HDRI map (TIF).
Render
IMPORTANT: If you're using a native Cinema 4D renderer (Physical or Standard), you have to make Cloner object named "light sources" editable before render. So that each light will become a separate object.
Also, related to the native C4D renders: the glass material is not shining by default. You should enable a Luminance channel in the glass material or correct the glass color in post-production, or do both.
3D Model Matches the Real-World Sizes
Distance between lights — 8 cm.
Length of one light — 3.9 cm.
