Limitations:

They can't replace hyper realistic simulations and they are planes, so thin like slices of cheese. So you have to fake it as a good 3D Artist. But it's only a matter of the camera angle to hide their thin character.Their undynamic character in the direction of colour and light you have to fake it with the shader. So again, for a good 3D Artist this isn't a problem.
