A customizable Unreal Engine 5 cloaking material designed to create a futuristic active camouflage effect where characters, objects, or equipment appear partially invisible while still maintaining a distorted silhouette.
The material is fully tweakable and designed for customization, allowing developers to alter multiple texture inputs and parameters to create entirely different cloaking styles and visual behaviors. Users can swap or modify normal maps, noise textures, distortion maps, opacity masks, emissive colors, Fresnel intensity, shimmer patterns, and refraction values to achieve anything from subtle heat-wave distortion to aggressive sci-fi stealth effects.
The included distortion system can be driven by custom textures to produce randomized optical warping, animated energy ripples, digital interference, predator-style shimmer effects, holographic cloaking, or adaptive camouflage visuals. Color values, transparency strength, edge glow visibility, and motion behavior can all be adjusted directly within the material instance for rapid iteration and easy integration into different art styles.
