Initially conceived as the replacement for the M249 Squad Automatic Weapon, the M27 has been gradually developed into the new standard rifle of the USMC. The H&K weapon features much improved reliability, modularity, ergonomics as well as accuracy compared to the M4/M16 series of weapon.
