Idea from **rudokstavern***ARUGAL *Sentient Longsword (lawful evil), Versatile, LegendaryArugal gives +2 to attack and damage rolls, +3 if a creature is killed using the weapon in previous or current round It is engraved with 5 magic runes that charge themselves each time the weapon is used to kill a non-tiny living creature. Arugal consumes one charge every twelve hours. If no charge is available, Arugal will prompt the wielder to harvest more souls. After that, every twelve hours the wielder must make a DC 17 Wis saving throw and if they fail, they go berserk until a charge is gained or they are knocked unconscious. If no charge is gained for a week, Arugal will try to consume the soul of his wielder (DC 20 Wis saving throw), on a fail the wielder dies and Arugal waits for another wielder to pick him up, on a success Arugal goes dormant and loses all of its powers (including attack and damage bonus) until a charge is gained.
