Description
The Smith & Wesson Assault Shotgun was part of the American C.A.W.S. program, which was part of the S.P.I.W. program. The SWAS-1 Was intended to be a combat shotgun and competitor of the H&K CAWS.The shotgun & CAWS program was a complete failure, as the shotgun proved ineffective at up to 150 meters. While the layout and controls are based on the AR-15 platform, the weapon uses proprietary parts.
