Description

Giovanni Battista Bugatti was the longest serving executioner of the Papal States. Nicknamed ‘Master of Justice,’ he executed a whopping 514 people - about 7 a year! This axe was one of his chosen methods of execution, though hanging, mazzatello, and beheading via guillotine were also employed. Contrary to popular belief, executioners were rarely seen as scary or morally questionable people in history, unless of course you had an appointment with the chopping block. Rather, he was a beloved man seen not as a killer, but a deliverer of justice, and was known to sell painted umbrellas with his wife when not on duty.

Two texture sets are included: A slightly weathered one accurate to its modern appearance, and a cleaned version reflecting what it may have looked like in its prime
