The Charger-Loading Lee-Enfield Mk I (CLLE Mk I) was a modified version of the standard Lee-Enfield rifle developed in the early 20th century to improve reloading speed for British infantry. Introduced shortly before and during World War I, the CLLE Mk I incorporated a charger bridge on the receiver, allowing soldiers to reload the rifle using 5-round charger clips instead of inserting individual cartridges into the magazine.
