In 1904, the Caucasian Horse Brigade was formed and participated in the Russo-Japanese War, formed of Caucasian volunteers and Cossacks and consisting of the 2nd Dagestan and Terek-Kuban regiments. The brigade was formed in the Caucasus and armed with its own weapons - the daggers of the mountain brigades of the 1905 model
