Recently, I have been trying to add a collection of lineside buildings to my collection, This building design was spotted next to the tracks in Penzance. As it was a more modern I thought it would be an ideal model for people modelling the modern railways.
The building has been designed to be printed on an FDM printer. If you have a resin printer large enough to print it, then it will print fine with resin. In OO scale, the model is approximately 160mm long, 72mm deep, and 52mm tall.
This item comes in two sections: Bottom brickwork with doorways, the other part is the metal roof. For FDM I recommend printing brickwork and roof in the correct orientation (The roof section will need to be printed with supports). For resin I recommend printing in the correct orientation but at a 25-35 degree angle.
designed at OO gauge, 1/76.2 scale but can easily be scaled for other gauges.for HO gauge print at 87%, 1/87 Scale,for O gauge UK at 175%, 1/43.5 Scale,for O gauge International print at 158%, 1/48 Scale,for N gauge print at 51.49%, 1/148 Scale, (Caution: I have not printed this model in N gauge so I can’t guarantee its printability)
The example in the pictures was printed on a Bambu Labs A1 FDM Printer.As normal with my designs, there is a balance between accuracy and printability, hopefully not affecting the look of the model too much. This design was especially difficult to get a balance between accuracy and printability.
For FDM printing, I used a 0.4mm nozzle and a layer height of 0.08/0.12mm using PLA filament.
