The MP-40 was a German submachine gun developed in the late 1930s and widely used throughout the Second World War. Designed as an evolution of the earlier MP-38, it was optimized for mass production through the use of stamped steel and simplified components, making it both cost-effective and reliable in combat conditions. Chambered in 9×19 mm Parabellum, the MP-40 featured a relatively moderate rate of fire of around 500–550 rounds per minute, allowing for controllable automatic fire and improved accuracy at short to medium ranges.

Equipped with a 32-round detachable box magazine and a distinctive folding metal stock, the MP-40 was compact and well-suited for mechanized infantry, paratroopers, and armored vehicle crews. Its blowback-operated system contributed to its mechanical simplicity, though it could be sensitive to dirt and magazine-related feeding issues. Despite these limitations, the MP-40 became one of the most recognizable firearms of the war, valued for its balance of portability, firepower, and ease of production.

This model is a realistic and accurate representation of the MP-40 design, based in original German technical drawings, museum photographs and 3D references. It is suitable for rendering, simulations, and videogames.
