gether with Flash, Sci-Fi was given experimental laser technology with which to defend the SPS Research Facility from a Cobra attack. When Cobra arrived with their giant robots, Sci-Fi killed Frenzy with a precise laser straight through the robot's eye. He and Flash were unable to stop Rumble from razing the building they were standing on, however. They were ultimately saved by Bumblebee, who punched out Rumble and helped the laser troopers get out of the rubble. G.I. Joe vs. the Transformers #3 Sci-Fi later participated in the attack on Cobra Island, during which he got to sit inside Bumblebee and brag to the other soldiers about how awesome laser rifles were. He also helped Mainframe deduce the coordinates to the SPS Satellite, allowing Optimus Prime to shoot it down. As thanks for helping the Autobots defeat the Decepticons, Sci-Fi was provided with his very own giant mech suit.
