Known as a participant in the first sea battle in world history between steam ships (1853).On November 5, 1853, the first battle of steam ships entered the history. Vladimir under the flag of the chief of staff of the Black Sea Fleet, Vice-Admiral V. A. Kornilov, attacked the 10-gun Turkish-Egyptian steamer Pervaz-Bahri.
