Istanbul Ataturk Airport (Turkish: İstanbul Atatürk Havalimanı; IATA: ISL, ICAO: LTBA) is a former international airport in Istanbul, the largest airport in Turkey. Located in the European part of the city, 24 kilometers west of the historical center of the city - Sultanahmet Square, on the shores of the Sea of Marmara. Since 1980, the airport has been named after Mustafa Kemal Ataturk, the first president of the Turkish Republic.
