History:

he Norden bombsight was used by the United States Army Air Force and United States Navy during World War II, the Korean War, and the Vietnam War. It was an analog computer that calculated bomb trajectories for release. It also linked to the aircraft autopilot. The bombsight was, for its time, very accurate. It was also very secret and aircrews were expected to destroy the site to keep it from falling into enemy hands. Carl L. Norden, Inc. built the bombsight for the military and it continued to be used well past the WWII era.
